The celebration was so breathtaking that it was recently featured in Vogue India.

This wasn’t just a wedding. It was a full-scale, immersive experience that brought together heartfelt traditions, modern elegance, and global travel in one unforgettable celebration of love.

From Vision to Reality

The journey of planning Shlok and Revathi’s wedding began with a shared vision: a celebration that would transcend the ordinary, a confluence of cultures set against a backdrop of unparalleled beauty. The couple envisioned a gathering that was not only a testament to their love but also an opportunity for their families and friends from around the globe to come together in an atmosphere of joy, elegance, and profound cultural richness.

The selection of Tenerife, and specifically the Ritz-Carlton Abama, was a deliberate choice. This hidden gem in the Canary Islands, with its dramatic cliffside setting, lush botanical gardens, and magnificent Spanish-Moorish architecture, provided the perfect canvas upon which to paint this extraordinary celebration. The resort's reputation for luxury and world-class service further solidified its position as the ideal venue for such a grand occasion.

A Magical Wedding Week: March 1st–4th, 2024

Every moment of this celebration was curated with intention, emotion, and style. Here’s a glimpse into the four-day journey:

March 1 – Welcome Dinner at La Veranda

The festivities commenced with an elegant welcome dinner at La Veranda, a venue chosen for its serene ambiance and exquisite culinary offerings. Surrounded by the lush greenery of subtropical gardens and bathed in the gentle ocean air, guests were greeted with warmth and hospitality. This evening was designed to set the tone for the weekend: intimate, welcoming, and unforgettable. The meticulously planned menu featured a blend of local and international cuisine, catering to the diverse tastes of the guests. Soft music, gentle lighting, and the sound of the nearby ocean created a truly enchanting atmosphere, allowing guests to mingle and connect before the celebrations began.

March 1 – After Party at The Zone Club

This after party was only after the wedding celebration and another after party the night after the reception

The celebration didn’t end with the welcome dinner. Instead, guests were invited to keep the festivities alive at the resort’s vibrant Zone Club. Here, the atmosphere shifted to one of lively energy and excitement. Signature cocktails flowed freely, and the music, a carefully curated mix of contemporary hits and cultural favorites, kept everyone on the dance floor until the early hours. This after-party served as an informal yet joyous introduction to the days of celebrations ahead, allowing guests to relax and enjoy themselves in a laid-back setting.

March 2 – Haldi Ceremony with a View at Persian Garden

The second day unfolded with the vibrant and auspicious Haldi ceremony. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Persian Garden, the ceremony became a visual spectacle. The radiant sunshine, the panoramic views of the ocean, and the vivid hues of turmeric created an unforgettable scene. The air was filled with laughter, blessings, and the joyful spirit of tradition. This ceremony was not just about the application of turmeric but also a moment of deep emotional connection, marking the beginning of the pre-wedding rituals in a spectacular setting.

March 2 – Mehendi & Sangeet in the Grand Ballroom

Later that evening, the grand ballroom of the Ritz-Carlton Abama was transformed into a vibrant world of color, dance, and music for the Mehendi and Sangeet ceremony. The ballroom was adorned with intricate decorations that reflected the cultural richness of the event. Guests were treated to a high-energy evening filled with choreographed dances, heartfelt speeches, and stunning decor. The Mehendi artists meticulously applied intricate designs, while the Sangeet performances captivated the audience with their creativity and passion. The evening was a perfect blend of tradition and celebration, a feast for the senses.

March 3 – Baraat & Wedding Ceremony on the Cliffside of Mirador Garden

The third day commenced with the groom’s Baraat, a lively procession filled with fun and dancing. The Baraat journeyed towards the breathtaking cliffside ceremony location, where the most significant moment of the wedding was set to take place. With a majestic backdrop, Shlok & Revathi exchanged their vows in an emotional and visually spectacular ceremony. The gentle sea breeze, the sound of the waves, and the radiant sunset added to the romantic ambiance, creating an indelible memory for all present. The ceremony was a beautiful fusion of cultural traditions and personal touches, reflecting the unique love story of the couple. There were fireworks after the wedding ceremony and the wedding dinner was right in that same place.

March 3 – Reception Dinner Around the Pool

As the sun began to dip below the horizon, the celebration seamlessly transitioned to a romantic reception dinner set around the resort’s stunning pool area. The atmosphere was transformed with the glow of candlelight, elegant floral arrangements, and heartfelt toasts. The reception was an beautiful gathering, where friends and family shared stories and celebrated the newly wedded couple. The gourmet cuisine, the carefully selected wines, and the impeccable service all contributed to an evening of pure elegance and joy. Cocktail hour was in an adjoining location and then everybody walked into the room revealed around the pool and that’s where the reception entrance is and the party started.

March 3 – After Party at The Zone Club

Following the reception, the energy picked up once again as guests returned to the Zone Club for another night of dancing and revelry. Custom cocktails, pulsating beats, and an electric atmosphere kept the party going until the early hours. This after-party was a testament to the joyous spirit of the occasion, allowing everyone to let loose and celebrate the couple's union in style.

March 4 – Farewell & Guest Departures

After a weekend brimming with love, joy, and cultural richness, guests bid farewell, carrying with them memories that they would cherish forever. The departures were filled with warm embraces and promises to stay connected, a testament to the bonds formed during this extraordinary celebration.

Our Role: What We Did

As experts in destination wedding planning and travel hospitality, our team was honored to take the lead in crafting an end-to-end guest and couple experience. Here’s what we managed for this iconic celebration:

Travel & Hospitality Coordination: We handled all logistics for the couple and over 275 guests — from coordinating international travel itineraries and group hotel bookings to ensuring smooth arrivals, airport transfers, and local transportation throughout the multi-day celebration.
On-Site Guest Management: From personalized welcome experiences to day-of-event coordination, our team was on-site to ensure guests felt taken care of every step of the way. We provided hospitality desks, helped navigate, and ensured a seamless guest journey from check-in to farewell. Also, we provided little gifts in the welcome bag.

Our mission was simple: let Shlok & Revathi — and their families — be fully present in every moment, while we worked behind the scenes to bring their vision to life.

The Venue: Ritz-Carlton Abama, Tenerife

Perched majestically on a dramatic cliffside within the enchanting Canary Islands, the Ritz-Carlton Abama stands as one of Europe’s most coveted hidden gems for destination weddings. Guests enjoyed access to world-class amenities, including an exclusive private beach, Michelin-starred dining experiences, and an expansive layout that proved ideal for hosting the multi-day South Asian celebrations with grace and ease.
